A canoe trip into the Atchafalaya River Basin of Louisiana yielded several rolls of photos that would later inspire a series of watercolors. The trip was a photography workshop that was led by C.C. Lockwood in 1985. My father-in-law, Joe West, and I paddled all over the Basin and ended up here at sunset.
