Childhood trips to Preservation Hall in New Orleans with my parents, when I was about 7 or 8 in the late 60’s, were the catalyst for a whole series of paintings and drawings based on Jazz Musicians. When I was in my late teens I went back to Preservation Hall and was able to see most of the same musicians I remembered from years before.
